Over the holidays I went to LA for my cousins wedding and let me tell you it was BRRR! When you think of California you generally think of sun, beaches, celebs & fake boobs but let me tell you i saw none of that lol...
No I had a great time I only wished I had more time to sight see. We had a connecting flight on the way home. Cali>Denver>Toronto and on the flight from Denver to Toronto I was seated next to a young guy with a buzz cut. Right away he began to chat with me, apologizing for smelling of smoke and offering me several time to use his movie screen on the back of the headrest in front of him as mine was broken. Sweet yes, he even went as far as to offer me his portable dvd player but I just didn't feel right taking it lol.
As we chatted it came out that he was 20, in the US Air Force and stationed in the UK where he was headed via Toronto. He seemed nervous, fidgety and like he just needed to keep talking. He asked me all kinds of questions about Canadians which I found amusing, he told me all about the airplane we were on including the fact that we were pretty much free falling... He asked me what the drinking age was in the air and at one point he even found it amusing that the arm rest between us lifted up and offered to cuddle with me... I laughed it off and put the arm rest back down.
Near the end of the flight I asked his name... Matthew he said... but he never asked mine. As we deplaned he walked along side me until customs where we said our casual goodbyes and went our separate ways.
He was a character but it made one heck of a flight home since I usually get stuck to people who sleep the whole flight.
I came home and spent new years with Mr.BF and his family. Really low key, really sober & really glad to be entering into a new year with him :)
I hope you all had a fun and exciting holiday and new year. Here's to a wonderful 2010!!
Stay pretty ;)
Well lovely people I'm back from paradise and straight into reality!
We arrived back early Saturday morning and although I miss the pool and sun terribly I'm really happy to be back in my own bed!
Also I'm a routine lover being a Capricorn and all so its good to be back into my daily life.
Anywho here are some pics from my amazing trip with Mr.BF. Btw there were no blowouts from spending 24/7 with each other which is just another sign that we are a good match ;)
Our Hotel

We took a private tour with a Canadian guy who's moved down there and he took us to this amazing school where we took school supplies for the adorable children.

We then visited a coffee and cocoa plantation which was quite interesting. They let us sample some chocolate in its natural state which is very bitter and some amazing coffee. In the last pic you can see our tour guide getting schooled from the woman of the house on the coffee beans.

We then took a drive down to Macao beach which was not only beautiful but quite as well. We were one of a handful of people on the beach. After the beach we drove through the city of Higuey where we saw the Basilica of Higuey.

Then we were off to the local farmers market where we saw all kinds of spices, fresh veggies and hand made items for sale.

We visited a wal-mart type of store where I found some interesting snacks. Lime flavored Pringles (amazing), Key lime pie splash gum (very sweet) and my fav cinnamon sugar pita chips SO good!

Our last stop was the Don Lucas Cigar factory. We watched as they rolled and labeled the cigars on tiny tables in a fair sized room right by the entrance.

The resort was stunning and although there weren't many English speaking guests we managed to keep each other from being bored. We celebrated Halloween there and the staff transformed the lobby into a makeshift graveyard it was pretty cool.

There were these amazing lounger beds throughout the resort.
You know to keep Mr.BF a secret ;)
He didn't tan much but at least he didn't burn!
I surprised him with decorating the room with balloons and streamers on his birthday. I'm sneaky :) I brought all the decor from here in my suitcase. I had the hotel staff help with this beautiful towel swan :)
Later that night was surprise #2. I took him off the resort to Punta Cana's #1 restaurant called Jellyfish. It was set right on the beach and with the sound of the waves, the full moon and amazing food it was a night to remember!
It was really really windy out but it worked for this pic lol..
What an amazing trip! We celebrated his birthday, 6 months and a start of hopefully a wonderful life together!
Stay Pretty ;)
Hola from the Dominican Republic!

Far
I got chills several times and really felt like I was at his concert.
I would say 2 thumbs up if you are a MJ fan if you're not you probably wont care much for it.
Mr.BF thought it was ok and didn't really get any feeling from it... hes not really a huge MJ fan though.
The production of this concert was going to be crazy, entertaining and really expensive but it would have made for an awesome show. To see the hours of rehearsals his entire crew put in and everything that went into his show was truly special. You get to see just how mild mannered he is and just how much of a talented performer we all knew but may have forgotten was there.
This movie really made me love MJ just a tad more... *Sigh*
Enough about MJ I'm off to the beach!!
See you in a week :)
Stay Pretty ;)
Well B2M were amazing! I tired to upload a video to youtube however it took way too long so mayhaps when I get back from my fab beach vaca which btw I leave for in 2 days booyah!!
I haven't even packed yet and the thought of all that I have to do is overwhelming at the moment but I know ill get it done because I'm always up till midnight the night before I fly packing... no sleep but it gets done.... and really who cares I'm off to do nothing for a week :)
Tonight however I have a hot date with Michael Jackson at the theatre. I cant wait to see this movie :)
Has anyone seen it yet?
Stay Pretty ;)
Thanks so much for everyones money saving tips..
Mr.BF and I have stopped eating out as much as started cooking more... Actually hes actually cooked for me a few times now..but he told me not to tell anyone so shhh...
We try to buy groceries that we know can make a huge meal and then try to get dinner for 2 and lunch for 2 out of it so that's helped a lot. No more $10-$15 lunches for him!
I also called my cable and internet company and asked very nicely what they could do for me. I went from a monthly bill of $135 to $89... massive savings right there just for asking politely lol. I suggest you try this. I read somewhere that it really doesn't hurt to ask so I did and it worked.
With all this money stress I've also taken on some family ish stress and well I have been given a new title at work. Which basically means on top of what I already do I now have another persons full time job so stress is my middle name right now.
With all this happening I cant help but really look forward to my time away with the Mr. We leave next Friday for the Dominican Republic!!!
A week away from the rain, cold, work, family, blackberries, computers & stress..... I would say I wish I was jet setting tomorrow but I don't because........
I'm going to see Boyz II Men tomorrow!! YAY! 4th year in a row seeing them in concert and it never gets old.. sigh
Also Wednesday we are going to see the Michael Jackson movie This is it. Kinda excited for that too... then Thursday my parents arrive home from their jet setting to India and Friday its Au Revoir and off the the sun...
OK so I've been MIA but well I've been trying to do some research on a great hot spot to go to.
Today we booked!
Mr.BF and I will be heading to Punta Cana in a few weeks :)
We will be staying at the Catalonia Royal Bavaro which is rated #6 in all of Punt Cana, for 7 nights.
I'm SO excited cuz not only did we get an amazing deal but this will be both of our first trips with significant others. Ive always wanted to go somewhere tropical with past partners but it never really worked out. Probably for a good reason (everything happens for a reason).
Ive done crazy research on Punta Cana even though I've been there 3x lol.. also on our hotel which looks stunning.
Check out these pics....
So I know you all missed me tons right? lol ok well I missed you!

Ill post about all my goodies with pics on Monday but I just wanted to say HI ;)
Oh and that I just found out my most favorite group every Boyz II Men (don't hate!) is coming to Toronto again this year!!! You know what that means right??? Yup I'm dragging Mr. 25 to go see them with me :)
This news makes me happy... that combined with the fact that I'm well again (got super sick on the flight home story Monday) and that its FRIDAY makes me smile!!
Swimsuit photoshoot Sunday cant wait should be fun!! (For the hundredth time NO I'm not a model I'm a makeup artist this is why I work on photoshoots!)...
